Comment on The whole "toilet seat up, toilet seat down" gender debate could be solved by everybody putting the seat and lid down.
When you flush the lid should closed so urine and fecal particles don’t become airborne.
They still become airborne. Someone else has been posting a link to an article which found no significant difference in floor contamination regardless of lid position.
