Itâs a meaningless meme - if you remember the early days of âyeetâ itâs lot like that. People started sticking the number around as an in-joke, but itâs gone super mainstream and now itâs just a goofy thing to do.

I just spent 21 months in prison.
Somebody fill me in on the 67 thing please?

Yeet has meaning though as to yeet is to throw
Warl0k3@lemmy.world â¨4⊠â¨days⊠ago
It does now, yes. Early days of yeet did not have a definition - âthatâs one Yeety Boiâ as an example - it was just a word youâd substitute in place of any other word for meme reasons.

My kid is in kintergarten and came home with a bunch of shit about counting to 67 and writing 67 on a makeshift turkey hat (it was right before Thanksgiving). I asked my wife and she canât explain it. I donât know.

Itâs new funny number. Why itâs funny? No one knows or itâs funny because the kids decided that it is.
MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works â¨4⊠â¨days⊠ago
The fact it has no meaning is why they find it funny. Thatâs basically it. Makes us oldies think weâre missing some context, but there is no context.
Karjalan@lemmy.world â¨4⊠â¨days⊠ago
There is context, but the kids parroting it donât know our understand it.
Basically itâs part of a line from a philly rap song that someone misinterpreted, said it in a funny way, went viral, and now everyone is copying the viral vid/kid.
