  They get away with it sometimes here, but they usually cannot touch thieves. Every security guard I’ve ever talked to told me the same thing “they don’t pay me enough to run after anyone!”

    I don’t know the rules, but there’s no shortage of YT videos of Walmart security grabbing people.

      Yeah, like I said they do get away with it sometimes, but are usually fired if they do. If not criminally prosecuted. Most every company has big fear of being sued if a security guard seriously hurts someone and that fear is most often times baked very loudly into everything the guard sees or hears during onboarding.

        Edit to add; no one is uploading videos of security guards doing nothing. Or at least those videos didn’t get any traction.

        That’s an important and very valid bias to point out.
