falcunculus@jlai.lu 2 weeks agoDepending on your needs and hardware, Linux audio can bring full satisfaction. The new subsystem, Pipewire (replacing both PulseAudio and JACK) is very convenient and still low latency. Applications are still catching up but the ecosystem has made major strides in recent years.

Good to know that, some of my new favorite plugins (Neural Amp Modeler, Inner Pitch 2) have Linux native versions, probably there’s also a way to run the old Kjaerhus Audio VSTs on Linux.

I use yabridge for running VSTs and it is normally great, however it isn’t compatible yet with the newest WINE versions.
