      Someone could have taken it in, but they didn’t. The cat doesn’t deserve to be killed for not having a home or for getting out accidentally. There’s like 80 some odd million stray cats in the US, and in attempts to curb those numbers we catch and release them after being alerted because many of them are truly feral.

      Homed cats should be inside only, yes.

        I agree that it didn’t deserve to die but it died because it lived outdoors. If you care about a stray, take it in.

        There’s an inherent risk to being a wild animal and it’s amplified in a place with thousands of people
