This is No Effort November sp it’s safe to assume he’s not putting a ton of work into this one.

Between this and the socks, I really feel like Alec has gone downhill lately.

Okay, but he didn't need to make a whole video just to pitch his own detergent powder.

A. Its not his detergent powder, he’s just tangentially involved.
B. He’s not profiting from sales.
C. The people selling it aren’t profiting from sales. It goes to charity.
D. Most of his video is not a pitch. The pitch was a small part.

For real. Wants everyone to buy this ridiculously overpriced powder. And no mention that you can make it yourself buying the bulk ingredients. If he did a whole section on how to make it yourself for super cheap then I’d be way on board.
Actually he really should do a video on trial and erroring making it himself with bulk ingredients I feel like it would be a good watch. Instead of an infomercial for green llama or whatever company is profiting off this.

The profits go to charity. So… an informercial for charity? How dare he.

How is this downhill?

Frankly, it feels like he's sold out. Every one of his recent videos seems like a way to sell something rather than just an effort to educate or highlight something neat.

He’s effecting the change he’s been talking about for years, so yeah he’s going to make a video about it. I don’t believe he’s getting anything financial from this product at all.
I don’t think he’s sold out. He’s reviewing products just as he always has, this is just the first one he had a small hand in the development of.

his youtube channel is printed on the packaging, at the very least that’s advertising.

All profits from what he’s selling go to charity.
