  I guess I was more wondering why do the name change at all

  But I’ve gone and looked it up now and apparently Wally is a less common name over there, so they changed it up to something more familiar.

  Which now begs the question: is Waldo a common name over there?

    I apologize. I keep reading comments like “why did you all vote for him”, so I’m quickly becoming jaded to comments at all Americans

    But to answer your question, I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone with either of those names. It’s a very old game, so Waldo might have been more popular of a name here a few decades ago
