You just said that you barely watch the show in your last comment, then here say you pay super close attention. Which is it?
Anecdotally, they will display the board, a quick pan over to the person ready to spin, a close up on the wheel, and then back to the board until the next spin. The board screen time is probably displayed at least 50% of a puzzle.
I’m not sure if I agree or not about the board always being displayed in the corner. I’d have to see a PoC to know if that would bug me or not, but I do understand why someone may want that.

Barely watch vs paying close attention?
That depends on the season of the year and how much I give a shit to even pay attention. I’m not an average viewer, I don’t watch religiously. I’m different. Those that watch religiously typically only watch the latest episodes. Not me.
When I bother actually watching, it’s usually either right after I came out of the restroom to banter my roommate before the solve, or when I’m trying to figure out how to un-glitch the animations of Vanna White on the game for Windows 3.11.
See, those that watch religiously don’t tend to go back and watch old episodes hardly ever. When I’m interested though, I definitely do watch both old and new shows.
The format of the show hasn’t changed much in a long time.
