So, why doesn’t tooth fairy dig up dead children to get teeth?

There are just not enough corpses in the suitable age groups any more.
Remember, the Tooth Fairy is after milk teeth!

It’s propably also an question of economics.
Renting an excavator to dig a 2m deep hole + extensive carpentry and dental work…
Sooo much easier and cost efficient to just pay an Euro and get 100% merchandize!calliope@retrolemmy.com 5 days ago
Because they have to be “fresh” teeth.
You could ask why tooth fairies don’t hang out in morgues waiting for recently dead children… they do! They just need more teeth than that so they have to use risk the sleeping live children and pay for them.
Plus someone would notice if the teeth were missing from the children after they die.

Lol I did not expect a very good retort.
May also explain why he didn’t hunger for teeth in the premodern days when dead juveniles were common lol
