You’re right, I was misreading pages 41 and 42 of the data.
I appreciate the correction!

This is such embarrassing reporting from The Verge. Leave it to the AI reporter to fail to understand a very basic survey I guess.
Far from a relic, Facebook remains a fixture for more than 70% of Americans.
This is literally not what the study says. The study says that 70% of people who used some type of social media used Facebook. Not 70% of Americans.
Here’s the gist of the question they asked:
% of U.S. adults who say they ever use …
People who didn’t answer weren’t included.
And, if someone used Facebook for a buy/sell/trade transaction, it’s counted as “social media” usage.
No wonder YouTube is at the top. Yikes.

Came here to make sure someone said OpenTTD! I got the original when I was about 12 in 1994 and I’ve been playing it on and off since then.

The Burnout games are underrated!
I just downloaded Burnout Paradise again and it holds up pretty well.

Literally the entire purpose of this community.
It’s been fun to see a lot of the major Lemmy posters show up in this thread. It’s been really eye-opening.

In a rant community?! No way!
- Comment on I am fucking tired of this shitty behavior. 1 week ago:
It’s honestly driving me crazy that people are complaining about the wording.
You posted it here consciously, it’s a “rant” community.
This is the right place for something like this! The way you worded it wasn’t really problematic. It may have been if it was in a different community, but people are expecting lot from a rant.

Man it’s crazy how many people have no ability to self-reflect here

I guess I don’t subscribe to the meme communities
Same. But I do subscribe to a lot of technical communities where the cm0002 collective reposts, and that can get annoying.
I just don’t get where this vitriol comes from about it.
It’s actually really easy to understand. You said so yourself: ban evasion is annoying.
We are in a “rant” community. The original poster seems annoyed.
You don’t have to understand it at all.
Like, why come to a rant community and be sarcastic and condescending? The ranting is why they’re here.

Are you being obtuse on purpose? You can’t see how creating additional accounts could be annoying?
- Comment on I am fucking tired of this shitty behavior. 1 week ago:
just constantly stealing other people’s content
That’s what bothers me.
The constant reposts have made it more difficult to find the original content. At the very least put where it’s from in the body or something so I can look there

If it came on suddenly after taking the medication? Yeah. Absolutely. That’s actually what doctors are relying on, is being informed when things change.
I have literally gone to the doctor and asked if my embarrassing side effect could be because of a medication. It was, so I stopped taking that medication.

Did he not tell his doctor for several years that he was all-of-a-sudden addicted to sex and gambling?
Maybe it’s just me but I would think “wow, this is unexpected behavior. Maybe I should talk to my doctor about my sudden urge for gay sex.”

It’s absolutely fantastic for reading books, but it’s only gotten better for my favorite use-case, which is comics and manga. The ability to do color adds so much.
Do you have a preferred device? I’m really curious but it’s hard to know where to start with colored screens.

He’s been saying this the whole time.
He wants to die president so he doesn’t go to jail, then hopefully become an eternal leader-god like North Korea. That’s his ultimate desire.
He essentially thinks he’ll be secularly canonized as St. Trump like FDR was recognized when he died.
It’s pathetic.
- Comment on I'll Never Think of the Tooth Fairy the Same 1 month ago:
Because they have to be “fresh” teeth.
You could ask why tooth fairies don’t hang out in morgues waiting for recently dead children… they do! They just need more teeth than that so they have to use risk the sleeping live children and pay for them.
Plus someone would notice if the teeth were missing from the children after they die.
