I don’t know man, I feel like ignoring these fucking horrible people isn’t the right way to go anymore. Like I feel like that’s what I’ve been doing my entire life and expecting them to eventually mature. They need to be publicly called out embarrassed and shown to be without the truth. Repeatedly if necessary, preferably as shamefully and as expensively as possible

That way madness lies. You can’t rationalise someone out of a position they weren’t rationalised into in the first place. You can’t debate someone into, for example, believing Brigitte Macron is a woman when they reached the opposite position in a complete absence of evidence of their belief.

It's not only about trying to get trolls to drop their bullshit (which, you're right, is a nearly impossible task) but also trying to keep the trolls from dragging other people down into crazytown. At the very least, suing people for spreading bullshit like this might dissuade others from following their example if they see there are consequences
