LordKitsuna@lemmy.world 4 weeks agoThat seems to be the trend in the industry a lot for some reason at the moment. The shows that are just like complete garbage are getting season after season and the actual good shows that practically everyone is begging for another season of just die quietly.

You forget that “everyone”, i.e. the people who post comments on sites like Reddit or Lemmy are just a small minority of the actual audience. Just because the nerds like something, doesn’t mean it’s actually popular. These decisions are made by viewer count. If a lot of people watch something, it gets extended. If not, it doesn’t.
