I don’t really feel like making a new 🧵, but this concerns me greatly. Should we ask our community for like a week, and make a thorough migration for communities that we want to emigrate?

Do you mean Piefed? Nyaa.Social isn’t really ready yet but I hope to get it out by November. Not everyone will want to migrate their communities so Lemmy will run as it is in the meantime.

I mean our local threadiverse community. I don’t feel like we should federate with a confirmed fash instance, that easily C&D. They have also confirmed to be dragnet surveillancing our comments, and that really troubles me. I may make a thread, if you feel we should ask. But then I see this becoming a rank choice vote.
Ideally I want to host my own instance, and mirror communities. But I’m not so sure that’s what everyone else wants to do, if they also onboard in emigrating
.world
communities elsewhere.e.g. for me. I lurk fash/c/games and crosspost content I want others to see in zip/c/gaming.
recursive_recursion@piefed.ca
does the same thing, forpcgaming@lemmy.ca
that way we do not have to interact with the fash instance.hitagi@ani.social 2 weeks ago
Oh I think I understand now. Ani.Social avoids blocking instances (as much as possible) so users can curate content for themselves. There’s no plans to block Lemmy.World right now.
I think our very minimal blocklist (it’s literally just threads.net) is one of the instance’s strengths.

Now, do we make a meta thread about it, or leave it as is?
