Thing is, Kimmel will be fine. He’s already rich, and he doesn’t need the job. I’m sure he’ll land on his feet.
But there are likely hundreds or maybe thousands of people who work on the show. Writers, set designers, the fucking craft services people, they are all victims of a fascist crackdown on free speech.

The issue isn’t him specifically, it’s that the US government has shown it can and will silence anyone who says something it doesn’t like.

No, he is not, although Colbert just wasn’t renewed for another year and remains until May 2026 rather than immediately being taken off the air. This is an escalation.

This is perhaps the most blatant example of the federal government making a direct threat to shut someone down, a comedian no less.
