a can doesnt need cushion liquid because cans are hard but cans of creamed corn are mostly liquid and i think its a scam

Maybe creamed corn is different where you are, but the creamed part is a sauce that goes with the corn. It's meant to be eaten with the corn and not supposed to be discarded, so I don't know why you're straining it.
