Comment on Apple users bash new iPhone 15: ‘Innovation died with Steve Jobs’
BorgDrone@lemmy.one 9 months agoThere is no such thing as ‘lightning speed’. It’s just a connector, not a data communication standard. The non-pro iPhone 15 uses the same SoC as last year’s pro models, which happens to have an USB 2.0 controller. The new SoC used in the 15 Pro models have a 10 gbit USB 3.0 controller on board.

“Still limited to the same speed of the model using the lightning connector” did not have the same ring to it.
Did not know they finally moved to a usb3 chipset on the pro when I commented, good to hear.
