The issue is that’s a weird alternative to just buying some DDR4 RAM.

Sure, not forever obviously. But why right now when I already have a DDR4 setup that works fine and just needed some more RAM for some applications? It just seems overkill to replace everything now for questionable benefit when I could buy new kit later.

Buy some then, but just accept that since it’s very old tech that is being discontinued you will pay more.
