Comment on The Queen was the victim of an attempted indecent assault as a teenager, book claims
HumanPenguin@feddit.uk 2 days agoThat consort tittle only applied pre corranation.
Once the King was coronated, King is considered the highest position. So Camilla became Queen.

No. She is still Queen Consort.
Calling her “Queen” and “Queen Consort” before and after the coronation were both correct.
Officially, “Queen Consort” was used before the coronation to avoid confusion with Elizabeth II. After the coronation they saw it as fair game to start referring to Camilla as Queen, which had always been historically done with the likes of Queen Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon and Queen Mary of Teck. And chess.

Except Charles Banned the term Consrt as out dated when he was Corrinated.
Paraphrased seriously
Consort has negative historical conditions. IE as a sex partner rather then a real wife. As Queen Regent Vs Queen already separated a sovereign from a kings wife. He ruled the Royal family. While Prince is used for a Queen Regents Husband. Using consort was not appropriate in this century.
My personal opinion Camila disliked the term. And honestly I would not blame her.

Historically, Consort hasn’t really been used.
Can you provide a source on hin “banning” it?
It was used to differentiate it from the late Queen. Although, I can see why charles would discourage it as comments keep appearing everywhere saying “Queen Consort*” because of the vile, vitriolic hatred against Her Majesty.

Simple Google search on why Camila is not consort will confirm it.
Consort has not historically been used for the exact reason I indicated. In Pre Stuart time. More Pre Henry 8th. As he was more deeply religious then most kings before him. Hence the divorces and CofE. It was common as a tittle for the kings Favourite Courtly female.

Ohh my apologies! Tbh the whole situation is very ambiguous really isn’t it? I thought she was officially known as the ‘queen-consort’ because she married into the royal family.

She’s Queen Consort in comparison to a Sovereign Queen, which Elizabeth II was. She isn’t the monarch, but holds titles as such (for example, addressed as “Her Majesty”, signs off as Camilla R, etc)

Queen Regnant is the reigning version of a queen.
