I’ve beaten the Dark Souls games and Elden Ring and also played some 2D Soulslikes, most recently Mandragora and Blasphemous. I like the Soulslike aspect more than the platforming, which I hate. So I stayed away form Hollow Knight for example.

So far, the platforming has been on the lesser side, however the maps seem somewhat large. There's a chance it could pick up later on.
I do think that the soulslike is the primary gameplay component though.
