Comment on Traffic pollution contributes to more than 1,800 premature deaths per year, study estimates

Dodgy study aside. I’m a country bumpkin who makes it to the city every few months and I have memories from years ago of waiting next to a bunch of cars stopped at a stop light and thinking about how much it stank. Fast forward to more modern times and it’s not nearly as bad. This is just a guess but my thoughts are between stop-start and EV/HEV cars there are a lot less fumes in general at stopped traffic, which is great.
There’s no real point I’m trying to make, I just think it’s nice.

It’s mostly just because of car emissions laws that have changed over the years.
