It’s in the Bible (the best selling book on Earth, at least at one time), it’s used in pop culture while not referring to the study in any way. So now annoying people use “alpha” just like “king” and “prince” and “the best” and “the greatest”.
You’ll all get over it soon, as usual. I promise.

“I am the alpha and the omega” only means “I am the beginning and the end” only because alpha and omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet. Alpha does not mean “first” in Greek you smug dumbass.
