You may lose the ability to view DRM content at high resolutions.

play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tv.standard…
Tl;dr - Subscription streaming platform that a bunch of youtubers can be watched on w/ no ads. Each member owns a % of the platform and gets a bigger $ cut per video

I find DRM morally wrong so that’s not a problem.
Say no to DRM!

I see this alot and I don’t understand what the issue is… I am definitely not an expert and would love to understand why.
As I understand it, DRM makes sure that, on a hardware level, or atleast a core software level, you cannot ‘steal’ copyrighted material. Right?

That’s the problem. You are relinquishing control over your own device mad you are not allowed to see what is happening. When you use DRM you are giving power to a company to decide how you watch your media and if you can access certain content.
This power is unjust and is easily abused.

Okay… but since it’s copyrighted material, I kind of understand why they don’t want you to record it…
I’m not saying it’s great, but I see the reasoning. What would you recommend is the ideal way for this to work?
