You should be able to do this with tasker or macrodroid. The how will need to be researched by you. Good luck.
- Comment on YouTube's new ad strategy is bound to upset users: YouTube Peak Points utilise Gemini to identify moments where users will be most engaged, so advertisers can place ads at the point. 3 days ago:
You could use alternatives if you specifically want some videos. Grayjay can play videos from multiple platforms. So, you don’t have to sacrifice or risk getting sucked.

I was merely suggesting DNS as layer which can be speed up. But, you will have to check with your VPN provider if there’s no setting go increase timeout. Or change servers so you get faster more responsive server locations which work for you.
- Comment on Phone recommendations, ex flagship, CustomRom, "hifi" 3.5jack, dual Sim preferably one esim, SDHX card reader preferably dedicated slot 5 days ago:
I can only recommend Sony. Especially, the newer one which has 4+6yrs of software updates. But, you will have to wait untit it becomes old for 2nd hand model to get within $260.
But, if you can get your hands on fairphone. It would be good too. Everything except 3.5mm jack, the android 15 update which will arrive sometime in the future. You will have to compromise someplace to arrive at your ideal phone.
The A72 is very old and in the poco X5 pro you will be dealing with MiUi/hyperOS shenanigans like not being able to use gestures in 3rd party launchers.

Your VPN should have a setting to increase the connection timeout. There’s also using a fast(for you) DNS to reduce DNS related slowdowns.
- Comment on Am I Being Unreasonable In Regards To A Paid App? 2 weeks ago:
You are talking about Niagara launcher right?
The issue I’m having is that recently bugs have been introduced. Widgets get randomly greyed out and I need to turn off and on the screen for them to become usable again. Also the launcher keeps appearing in Android’s recent apps screen
You can report the 1st bug. As for the 2nd bug you can also report to the devs.
Here’s the new feedback page for it: feedback.niagaralauncher.com
I find both of these things frustrating and have attempted to ask a couple times about the status of the launcher. The first time I was flat out ignored and the second time I was lambasted by a community member to not ask for ETAs. I’m not sure how asking if they’re still working on things is asking for an ETA, but whatever.
That’s against the rules because apparently they don’t want people asking this question again and again since there are 1000s and more users, to avoid giving timelines and failing if certain things fail. Also, to not put pressure on the people developing it.
I bought a lifetime license and so I can’t even act like I’m paying for this, but I do feel that my purchase at least entitles me to know if development is ongoing or do I have unreasonable expectations? I’m not asking for a when, just whether or not something is happening. Especially considering these bugs were only introduced when the launcher started trying to do too much and add features that should be handled by the OS rather than the launcher, namely a “usage breaker”.
Yeah, usage breaker is unnecessary but it was developed as part of their Digital wellbeing initiative.
You can switch to other launchers like Kiss, Olauncher, and others. They should provide a similar experience search experience.

In google photos, preferences, photos view, there are some settings which could have been changed. See if something is different on your end.

Do you not see photos and other media apps when attaching through files? In the sidebar? I see a full apps list to attach through. I’m not using pixel and have an android 14 smartphone.
Also, how does it work in other apps like the one you used to post in Lemmy? Depending on that you could consider raising a bug report at google or discord.

- Comment on Discord plans to roll out third-party ads on its mobile apps, starting with a mobile pilot for Video Quests, video ads that let users earn rewards, in June 2025. 1 month ago:
That’s the one I know. There’s also XMPP if you can use something less feature rich.
- Comment on New To Android? What Apps to Choose? 2 months ago:
I would recommend an adblocker. If your VPN supports proxy or you can make do without it. I recommend PersonalDNSFilter.
For launcher depending on personal preference I recommend Niagara Launcher or Smart Launcher 6.
For RSS feeds I recommend Feeder
For YT apart from Newpips, there’s Libretube and Tubular( a newpipe fork with sponsorblock and youtubedislike support).
For torrent Libretorrent or the basic but simple PikaTorrent. For games there’s Endless Sky, Shattered Pixel Dungeon.
For image editors there Image Toolbox
For note taking app I use Orgzly(revived), but you can try the ones like Open Note which are simpler.
For Lemmy clients there’s Voyager, Jerboa Both are fantastic, smooth and functional.
If you need recommendations for more categories of apps feel free to ask. The community will answer where it can.

You can try and let us know. Chinese ROMs are more aggresive with App killing so it may break it on those ROMs. But, everyone else should be fine.
- Comment on Lemmy Android App Comparison 3 months ago:
Voyager and Jerboa are a safe bet if you want compatibility and stable features. Bonus points for being Foss clients.

You should try reporting this bug to GrapheneOS. Do you experience this bug in other phones? If not appears to be something specific to Your custom ROM.
