VPNs are not doing a lot for privacy. Depending on how you use it, quite the opposite

100%, but it’s definitely better than nothing, it makes it much more expensive for the government to surveil. Some VPNs have no logs but most have real time monitoring for compliance reasons, to catch very bad people. It’s more useful for “I have private journals” than “I’m a criminal”.

VPN privacy is way overblown by the companies. Only thing it does is obscure your IP but there are so many other ways companies are tracking you.
