Comment on NASA finally admits what everyone already knows: SLS is unaffordable
the_post_of_tom_joad@sh.itjust.works 1 year ago[en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Launch_System](its basically NASA’s replacement for the shuttle we’ve known). I had to look it up myself as the article writer seemingly assumes foreknowledge of the SLS program.
I do wonder how much of the cost overrun is a lack of oversight and so yet another handout to northropgunman and boeing, but that’s just my good ol go-to suspicion tbh.

Its the NASA big rocket, for moon or Mars missions with crew and gear that need more launch power than rockets designed for LEO can do efficiently.

What is LEO? In my world, that is a Law Enforcement Officer but that doesn’t fit here.

Which translates to below 500km orbits. Usually 300km or lower.
