Honestly, the pay is crap. I looked the other day to see how much it pay the new Icetapo was offering and its starting at GS-5 rates…about $45-65k.
I couldn’t afford my bills and beat up my fellow Americans at those rates.

You are not considering the overtime, which is where LEO makes bank.
There are also off-hours work where you act as armed security. You would want to be deputized with state or county so you can wear those uniforms, for fairly obvious reasons in the current political climate. It doesn’t matter if you are actively undermining ICE, you are still ICE and will be treated as such.

It’d be a shame if you got hired to be armed security and your friends who would treat ICE obviously nicely based off your tone tho just happened to know exactly where and who you’re doing security for, and you might just happen to “fall asleep” or something during a certain time you might say outloud totally not as a signal when said friends would politely be sneaking in where you would be “guarding” to give the nice person a handshake.
Just a thought.

I’m not talking about armed security for ICE, it is stuff like mall security patrol as a uniformed officer or uniformed policed security for a highschool football game.
You wouldn’t be doing guard duty for Alligator Alcatraz, that is handled by on-duty people.
