  My theory is that there’s TOO much for people to care.

  Remember when we DIDN’T hear about what the president was doing MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY? If one of those presidents had decided to undermine democracy, it’d be a pretty big deal and we’d talk about nothing else for weeks.

  But now, breaking news rolls out every hour or two, and it’s just too much to absorb. People are tuning out because if they miss 3 controversies, there will be a fourth by the end of the day. Maybe they’ll worry about that one.
