Comment on I've got one more (short) horror book to read before Halloween. Have you
kimlockhartga@beige.party 7 hours ago @MargaretSefton @templetongate @bookstodon I do enjoy both Nghi Vo (The Chosen and the Beautiful) and Mariana Enriquez (Our Share of Night, The Dangers of Smoking in Bed). Enriquez scared the crap out of me with one of her doppelganger stories.
@kimlockhartga @templetongate @bookstodon She's a very powerful writer. I want to read more of her work. It set me on a course of reading more Argentinian/South American female writers in general--Samantha Schweblin, Silvina OCampo. I just purchased Maria Ampuero's Human Sacrifices (Ecuador).
@MargaretSefton @templetongate @bookstodon You are speaking my language. I love me some Samanta Schweblin, but her style is very unusual, so people are either hot or cold about her work. Mouthful of Birds was amazing!
@kimlockhartga @templetongate @bookstodon I liked Good and Evil and Other Stories as well as Seven Empty Houses--my fave.
@MargaretSefton @templetongate @bookstodon I need to read those!
