  Aye, but in colder temperatures tight denim cools over leaving no air pocket to trap body heat or improve wind resistance. There’s no one on this planet that can generate body heat on such a level it can counters the atmosphere, so creating a little atmosphere inside the denim with loose jeans is the next best thing. It’s the same concept as single vs double glazed windows.

  If you want tight pants in cold climate, need to use high textured material likecorduroy or fleece, otherwise add a thermal base layer under the denim.
