Comment on Took a break from the 1245 page book, to read this little ol' 65 pager.
It's a true time commitment, and you can lose flow if you have to stop and start a lot.
I've read a few books that didn't feel nearly as long as they were:
11/22/63, Stephen King
1Q84, Haruki Murakami
2666, Roberto Bolaño
Wayward, Chuck Wendig
But, most? You can definitely feel it.

The genre books where it's a 7 book series of 800 page volumes... I don't have time or patience for that level of filler. I'd really like more 200 page novels that I could knock out in a day or two and get a complete story without a wasted word.

@xinit @wendigo @bookstodon Yeah, that's way too much. On the other extreme, I've read 250-300 page books that took forever, because they became such a slog after awhile, but then I get that whole sunk cost fallacy thing going and make myself power through.
