RejZoR@lemmy.ml 12 hours agoGlass convection oven works in exact same way as air friers. Heating element with fan on top blowing air downwards which then circulates in the glass bowl. Mine even has custom made non stick perforated plate where I put the food and it’s surface is way larger than largest air frier I’ve ever seen.

A lot of convection ovens have fan in the rear, now what?
Is that a flex? Air fryers are faster because their volume is much smaller than the traditional oven.

Air fryers cooking speed isn’t because they are small, it’s because they produce a large amount of heat compared to their volume. Being small makes that cheaper and easier to do.
Toaster ovens/convection ovens can match the same affect, although most dont. Some, do.
