  So very shortly after the reddit API fiasco, when a LOT of people migrated to Lemmy…someone noticed the high percentage of “upvotes” on Lemmy comments. They made a post stating “People on Lemmy will upvote anything.” With a pic of Heinz baked beans. It became, at the time, the most upvoted post on all of Lemmy. Hence, Lemmy has always upvoted beans…

    OK, that’s pretty funny. Thanks for the heads up. Beanz have been funny since The Goodies’ fake ads back in the day - "Get it RIGHT!’

    I will, however, add that beans are delicious and it’s not all that controversial to upvote them.
