I’m gonna just block you. I hope you take an English class someday and learn to pick apart that dumbass take, because I’m not doing it for you.

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 10 hours agoThe upvotes tell a different story than your manufactured narrative, which was pushed with a lot of money around ten to fifteen years ago to villlify a word.
Think about this: Why is it alright to call someone a moron, or an idiot, or an imbecile? Nobody ever goes after these, and they are more often used to denegrate people based on their intellect.
This entire “r-word” campaign is very stupid. By the way, there’s another one I just used. I bet you use that one, too, don’t you?

Here’s a free English lesson: Retard: To delay or hold back in terms of progress, development, or accomplishment.

I feel that you relating that word to the mentally handicap ( I assume) instead of the willfully ignorant speaks more about you than anyone else.

Nah I got no issue with the word (unless its directed at an actual human person, which the meme is not). What I have an issue is with people who type paragraphs when they are told not to use that word. Gonna block you too by the way.

Ha, fragile little stalker aren’t you?

You’re right dude, ableist slurs are bad and we should move past them

You’ve gotta pick your battles man, this one ain’t worth it. It’s shitty optics. Example:
“Oh you watch SpongeBob? Na in season 3 Mr Krabs calls SpongeBob and Patrick ‘lame’, and that’s an ableist slur”. Like, sure, you’re not wrong, but no one would do that, it’s not worth it. No one except terminally online lefties (like me tbf) cares, and you alienate people with such a strict purity test.

As someone who is clinically mentally disabled, I’ve never been offended by this so long as it’s not targeting a human being (being used in the pejorative to describe a neurotically person.) Why does it offend you? I’m genuinely asking.
