Reading your comment about the evolution, it made me realize that the most surprising thing is that it can evolve after its HP reached 0 and they got XP for killing it.
That’s weird enough by itself, but it’s also quite different from the previous example we saw, where it evolved just by eating corpses and never died.
It would also be such a cruel monster for the world’s inhabitants. Kill the thing that’s been eating tons of people? Well it’s significantly stronger now.
And yeah, the centipede makes it clear that the monsters can do whatever they did in the video game. No limits.
