Comment on Would you rather have a pet dinosaur or a pet dragon?
cattywampas@lemm.ee 1 year agoThey’re literally dinosaurs in the same way that humans and other animals are literally fish. Which is to say you can describe them that way taxonomically, but the saying “birds are literally dinosaurs” is misleading and disingenuous.

Awesome user name.
But I can’t agree. While some birds have evolved well away from their roots, others haven’t changed much at all, and should realistically count. Not just the rhea either.
