You’re approaching the idea from the perspective that the only negative is dealing with assholes in the military as you coast your way through and let them pay for college, when the reality is you’re risking your life and self respect even in the Guard.
If you are willing to take the risk of accident, injury, or war for a cause you might or might not believe in, do it. If not, don’t, but do not enter the Guard under the impression it’s a risk-free ride to tuition where your only difficulty will be dealing with the training.
