Honestly the difference between 1942 and 1943 on NES is enormous. 1942 was okay, but 1943 was so much better in every way, especially sound (the audio in 1942 is awful).
If you enjoyed 1942, I recommend loading 1943 on an emulator for a spin.

As for Battlefield I wouldn’t bother anymore. The franchise peaked with BF3 and everything else since is just awful.

That’s just like you’re opinion man. I’ve had heaps of fun with BF 3, 4, 5, & 2042. They’ve all still got online communities. 3/4/5 all have a good campaign and decent graphics for games that are usually on sale for a few bucks.
