Comment on Mastodon to Lemmy post formatting rules questions

Lemmy dev here. Making the same post to multiple communities is not possible, so you need to post multiple times tagging a different community each time. Links are taken from Activitypub attachment, but Mastodon only seems to support image attachments. So it is not possible to add other types of links unless Mastodon adds an option for that. Markdown would also have to be supported by Mastodon.
There are various other microblogging platforms on the Fediverse which may support these features and may be better suited to your purpose. For example Hometown, Pleroma, Misskey or Mitra to name just a few.

Posting to multiple Lemmy communities is not a big deal (you can always crosspost with a Lemmy account).
This IMO kills the whole Lemmy <> Mastodon integration outside of some very, very simple use cases. The ability to have differentiation between a heading and a URL is critical.
It’s too bad Mastodon doesn’t seem to support the URL function of Activitypub.
Mastodon is by far the biggest fedi micro-blogging platform. I recognize the irony of what I am saying considering I want people to move from Reddit to Lemmy, but for niche topics like tycoon/business sim video games, my point stands.

This issue has been brought up several times. Mastodon doesn’t seem interested in supporting other type of media.
Misskey or other key forks could work better for your use case.
