I recall Prez can deploy troops for up to 100 days or some bs. I remember my elementary teacher saying its rare congress wouldn’t extend operation.

I get some of that, but isnt that is response, I didnt think they had the right to start war with another country that was peaceful to them

  The War Powers Resolution requires the president to notify Congress within 48 hours of committing armed forces to military action and forbids armed forces from remaining for more than 60 days, with a further 30-day withdrawal period, without congressional authorization for use of military force (AUMF) or a declaration of war by the United States.

    WOW, they can just commit to war and they have to show no reason at all. That needs to be changed.
