  The general issue with actions like this is that you expend political capital. You can build political capital in a lot of ways, but many of Trumps actions burn through it rather than build.

  Why this matters is that the USA benefits from being a/the world leader, but that can only continue while other countries want that. Once the US shows itself to be unreliable or obstructive countries will look to places like China instead. So short term gains, long term costs - just like how many companies in America act.

    Political capital? Dude never had any. And deporting illegal immigrants was one of his campaign promises.

    And world leader? More like the world’s ATM. We send so much money to developed nations it’s ridiculous. That’s why other countries are upset, the gravy train stopped.

  He’s putting himself first, and America last. He’s so weak he couldn’t deal with Colombia before trying to sneak abused prisoners into their country.

  He got played by Brazil putting the last plane load all over the media. Leading to Colombia stopping flights in the first place. Because his pea brain only sees making more people suffer as the next step to isolate America from the world and destroy our alliances.

  Putting America first by putting it last, bold move let’s see if it pays off ( it won’t). Everything makes him a cry baby, he’s a butthurt snowflake and, like a toddler with a full diaper he’s making it everyone’s problem. Nice dog whistle. Don’t you worry about cotton being picked, the 13th amendment will ensure there is abundant slave labour to enrich the masters.
