VonReposti@feddit.dk 3 days agoUsually the fuel cap is on the passenger side according to the country of origin, so for example European = right side, Japanese = left side. It’s not 100% bullet proof but it can eliminate a bit of the guess work if the car doesn’t have an arrow to indicate such side the cap is on.

There are cars that don’t have arrows to indicate the side of the fuel cap on the fuel meter? Well, if they exist, I have definitely never seen one.
But these are just two different standards. What if your car isn’t European or Japanese?

At Costco and other high volume stores yes because they’re designed that way. Normal gas stations not so.

If it doesn’t have an arrow then the correct side is denoted by whether the fuel icon itself has the hose on the left or right.
