Yeah, it was nice to see him mention it, but to say that elves “took over” isn’t exactly true. It has always been like this. The amount of popular elf characters in anime now is not really much different than it was 30-40 years ago.
A bit of clickbait in the title, IMO.

Yeah I think Stevem makes clickbaity titles too. His anime director video series are titled “THE [DIRECTOR’S NAME] PROBLEM” which made me hestitant to watch. But after watching the Love & Pop segment in his Hideaki Anno video, I realized he does his research surprisingly well.
