Yeah, I totally get that. That would totally suddenly change the taste of what I just ate.

your analogy is disingenuous.
the chef didn’t use cheap knives to make my meal. the chef went around the dining room and stole pieces from other diners plates that were half eaten and made my plate.
only after eating some of it did the chef come out and tell everyone that they were all eating from each others plates.
that’s what using AI means in this context.
