Comment on California's richest cities were told to build housing—but made it a crime to be homeless instead

Currently live in the San Francisco Bay Area and see this happening in several cities. San Francisco is the largest example. They have made building new housing a nightmare of red tape yet they are going full steam ahead with clearing out the homeless people.

I live in Oakland an moderate (post) to the Oakland community.
I don’t recall all the details right now but… I think they tell all the people leave and then throw everything left in the trash.

SF says the people they are doing this to have not accepted the city’s very limited options for housing.
There was recent article (help me find it) detailing there are over over 200 SF non-profits focused on housing funded by less than 10 govt agencies.
