is your cutting tool clean ?
I’ve done it several times from a mother plant with success, in water and in soil, like in this tuto (bloomingbackyard.com/propagate-monstera-adansonii…)

Yep, I’ve got my special plant cutters that I keep clean with alcohol! They aren’t rotting away, they wither away before ever making a root.
I skimmed the page (will read it later) and saw a few tips I haven’t seen. I haven’t been bagging it and I haven’t tried laying it down flat on the soil!
