r0ertel@lemmy.world 2 days agoIndent to find an article to back up what I remember and in 2020, a woman was held in contempt of court and jailed for refusing to provide a passcode. The case was later overturned.

But they didn’t get the code. That’s the quest they can do, hold you in contempt of court. Which in the US is illegal under the 5th amendment.
