Reminds me of Massoud Hayoun’s When We Were Arabs. Jews being welcomed and protected by their Arab neighbors(and family!) in Palestine is one of the many truths that Israel/the West wants everyone to forget.

If the bearing were loose on the shaft, this would be a different conversation entirely.
If adjustment/refinement of the fit in the housing were out of the question, it shouldn’t be made out of plastic, but even in the world of metal-cutting machine tools, adjustment is often neccessary, and if a shim, spacer or set-screw does the job, its what is done.
Meanwhile, my own suggestion was, first, the upgrade kit.

The first episode will put you on some of the worst lists. It’s worse than porn, yet better than most anime by far. Utena is a victim, and I think she sticks with it partially because she realizes all of the Magical Girls in her world are victims.
- Comment on what anime is this girl from the meme from? 1 week ago:
It is, but its literally the most NSFW thing I’ve watched in years. 14yo(12yo? I’m not going back to check) nipples, out in the open, almost non-stop, along with any panty-shot you could concieve of.
Top of my list for shows I wish had reigned it in even slightly, or had a censored version on streaming, because as is, I can’t recommend it to friends or family, but its just too damn good of a show/story.

Resin isn’t that cheap either. Then there’s shipping. That said, if shimming works for test-prints, it may work for this. Personally, I can’t believe there’s not a wedge-centering end-cap or set-screws for dialing in the centering of the bearing just-so, but I’m no expert on this printer.

No skin off my back. Sorry, I honestly wasn’t meaning to call you out personally, beyond maybe, hey, this is how to do this next time.
I may just look into whether I can set this community to ding my notifications for new posts.
- Comment on Canary Cage 1 week ago:
Honestly, I was thinking post-approval by mods would be the best solution, for just that reason. Its why I led with the question about the existance of mods. Obviously too much work if its just the single mod who started the community.

Is there no moderation in this sub? An instance-agnostic link should be the bare minimum, not the exception. !canary_cage@lemmy.world

Epoxy isn’t cheap, unless you have it on-hand already or buy in-bulk. So you can burn ten-or-so-dollars on an epoxy fix that might or might not work as desired, or $40 on an upgrade that should.
That said, are you sure the printer is otherwise in good working order? Have you tried shimming that bearing and running a test print?

- Comment on New pathway engineered into plants lets them suck up more CO₂ - Ars Technica 4 weeks ago:
Believe it or not, I am right there with you on this. There is little to no way that I can see to do this without leaving most plants facing more competition than they can possibly cope with. Maybe start with islands that already have low plant biodiversity, and try to splice as many of each variety of plant there as possible at once? … but that’s all I’ve got.
Spliced Oceanic Algeas would probably just fill the oceans to the point of killing everything else in them.
- Comment on New pathway engineered into plants lets them suck up more CO₂ - Ars Technica 4 weeks ago:
Reducing emissions alone may not be enough for the survival of most existing flora and fauna.
The problem is that it will take an extended period of time for nature to pull all of the existing CO2 back out of the atmosphere. We may not survive long enough. The existing plants and whatnot that do it may not survive long enough to recover once its done.

Worth highlighting, Cadsketcher is parametric.

You can buy add-ons for this to auto-generate standard gear-forms and threads/bolts/holes. It is also parametric.

My favorite vice. Mountain Dew Code Red calms me like nothing, short of a cigarette by a campfire at sunrise while still reeling from Bourbon with friends the night before. Even then, Code Red makes it better.
Mind you, I otherwise don’t smoke, or drink for that matter.

I think the servers got an update or something. Lemmy is beautiful, and I’m more happy that its getting updates than I am concerned that an update introduced a bug with an easy-enough work-around.
On the other hand, maybe you and I just accidentally touched the drop-down and happened to create this issue for each of ourselves on the same day. Oh, and I happened to find your post before hitting this issue myself. Stranger things have happened.

Its part of the web-page, next to/under the text-entry box. Normally, it should say "Select language /"
- Comment on cannot edit my post b/c of slur filter? 1 month ago:
I would copy and re-post. Leave a comment about why on the original, then delete the original post. The admins/mods will still be able to see that, so if they get curious about the re-post, they shouldn’t need to contact you in order to figure it out.
Alternately, re-post in another (related) community hosted elsewhere(another instance), then cross-post that to the original community.

Exactly.
- Comment on Anyone tried cloud gaming? 2 months ago:
Its not “the Cloud” if its your own systems from top-to-bottom … More like Remote Play? … Seems Sony, Microsoft, and Valve all use that terminology for Streaming Gameplay from their consoles to another device.
Streaming to another location than where your Server is setup is tricky, mostly due to latency and establishing a connection that doesn’t get throttled(or compromised) by the ISPs involved. Personally, when I tried to get into it, about 10 years ago, I didn’t have the budget for a GPU that could be persuaded to support it at all.
Today, I’m more likely to keep such a server in my vehicle(on Battery/Solar), so its always just a local connection away, if I were to bother with the budget and hassle involved*. Around the house, I’ll just slap a new desktop together where I want to play games, or game on my laptop, and call it done.
*Ideally, I could build this for less than my good laptop would cost to replace, and use something much closer to outright disposable to game outside of my car. In practice, I just bring my good laptop with me everywhere, risk be damned.
- Comment on Help making a table more movable 2 months ago:
You might try something like these, or hiding a bunch of rubber/neoprene casters in the bottom of the two “feet”. Otherwise, for hardwood floors, thick felt is pretty well the gold standard for anything permanently attached to furniture.
You could also try securing PTFE along the bottoms of the feet, then when moving the table, you lay down a wool blanket or rug, and keep the rug stationary while moving the table across it. You could also flip the table over and do roughly the same thing.

Either everyone’s Rimuru(good-enough VA I guess, but mis-cast/shoe-horned a LOT), or they’re taking characters(girls mostly, like Kazari Uiharu) who are shallow, bat-shit insane and sound so in Japanese, but giving them reasonable voices that try to make their obsessions with rules and feeding sardines to their absolutely uninterested crush sound profound …
- Comment on What would you do in this scenario? 2 months ago:
You’ll have to have the power temporarilly disconnected at the pole. Once you’ve done that, a good ladder would be far cheaper than hiring any professional, by a factor of 5 or 10 times.
- Comment on Crunchyroll & Now Netflix Both Confirm Anime Sub Watchers Are the Minority on Their Platforms 2 months ago:
I watch the subs out of either impatience or avoiding certain English VA/character pairings that I absolutely cannot stand. I can muddle my way through the shittiest of subs rather than put up with localized VA’s who sound NOTHING like their Japanese counterparts…
