- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 4 days ago:
You think the boundaries weren’t spelled out? I mean, we all know “international law” is a joke 1st world countries ignore versus their own actions and the rest of the world, but versus eachother? “Don’t fuck with us and we won’t fuck with you” is stupidly over-defined.
The same for the financial enmeshment that sees this threat well-inside the realm of potential reality. Europe never promised not to sell these debts. The fact the US can’t complain about it if they do is part of what makes it a good threat. Are you not familiar with “soft power”, like, at all?
- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 5 days ago:
The people living their in 20 years STILL won’t control their own lands, you mean. If I’m wrong, I might then consider your implication that those people won’t count as Europeans, but to that I would only say “GOOD FOR THEM THEN!”
- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 5 days ago:
Trump didn’t specify how we would remove Maduro in the same way its pointless for Europe to specify exactly how they could or would retaliate. Its more than enough for there to be multiple options to make them all valid when it comes time to say “we warned you”.
Please don’t confuse my enthusiasm for one option that’s been shown to be possible and devestating, for me saying this is the only option Europe should consider. On the contrary, I’m just wishing they would pick an option that matters and run with it already. All they’ve done is show their belly like a submissive dog.
They don’t even appear to care about plausible deniability any more. Arresting Gaza protestors is just such a good, strong-arm look for going against Trump. Fear of Europe must be why so many churches in my area are flying Israeli flags at the moment.
- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 5 days ago:
No one is proposing they rattle their saber. The scale of the threat has long been too great to bother speaking aloud, and putting it into words instead of action would just be laugable.
Again, the “listened to” or no phase is past the horizon, around the curve and honestly several hills and valleys back in the rear-view mirror. A threat that isn’t followed-through on or is spoken only after you’ll obviously never act isn’t even a threat any more; Its a mark of submission.
Nice job contradicting yourself in that second paragraph though. Let me ask you this: Did Trump bother saying we were going to, could, or “should” abduct Maduro in advance?

I held my nose and voted for her. None of my neighbors did. Your sympathy is misplaced.
- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 5 days ago:
You’re funny. You think the US isn’t full of people who wouldn’t notice if things got worse on the whole because of how bad they have it already.
The only one proposing its somehow worse that me and my well-to-do neighbors join them and maybe end-up remembering such a basic concept as Class Solidarity is you.

Why is your browser out-of-date?
I mean, I don’t like the site per se, but Firefox isn’t complaining for me, so I am legit wondering what browser you are using that does complain. Are you planning on giving that site your personal information?
- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 6 days ago:
I know better than to beg Europeans and Facts ≠ Opinions, although I am going by the title where it says “Can”, rather than “should”.
- Comment on YSK: Europe Can Wreak HAVOC On America Without Firing a Bullet. 6 days ago:
… the time to do this shit has long been upon us. Who gives a fuck what they can do, until they do it? As an American, I’m begging you, put up or shut-up.
I didn’t vote for the baby in office, and I would gladly suffer to see his toys taken away by the adults.

You could say the same about US states, and you’re the first person to bring up any real flaw in OP’s post, beyond “stop stirring shit” and “learn how to right”. “low-effort shitpost” would at least be ironic.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
I mean, in assigning the different outlooks to specifically Europe/America, sure, but they are far from entirely wrong, even there.
It’s more like America and its banana-republic/media-obsessed/victimized/allied/vassal lackeys versus saner parts of the world, or Rich vs Poor(which outlooks would be flipped in different areas), but beyond that and placing their post in YSK instead of somewhere more centered on conversation or argument, I still saw far more “defensive” comments than OP could bear any real blame for.
- Comment on [deleted] 1 month ago:
It’s amusing how much blowback you’re getting without even having stated a preference. Are people assuming the mods here or useless or just haven’t seen this or what?
People here are way too worked up about motivations they’ve assumed and won’t bother with seeing proved or disproven.
Meannwhile, if I see a post I think doesn’t fit, I figure the mods should be approving posts rather than play whack-a-mole, realize its not my problem, and move-on. As an American, I’ll go on record; The “American” outlook on the “marketplace of ideas” is stupid, precisely because the substantiation part of the sale is essentially optional to most - you can get by on pandering to niche biases as the need arises.

I think the downvotes are mostly for that last sentence. Comes across a little-bit as you saying “YOU SHOULD respect him”.
- Comment on If every video game was to be destroyed but you had the chance to save five games, what would you choose to save? 2 months ago:
Forsaken 64 (multiplayer does things with “4th Dimensional” space I’ve never seen elsewhere, else this slot would belong to Descent)
No Man’s Sky (open to others for this slot, but not aware of any that check the same boxes for me)
Minecraft (Factorio mods)
Armored Core (any besides 3)
Starcraft or Dawn of War or Total War … so long as the best of the RTS genre is represented
Wait … no new games ever? Wtf, just kill me. … or rather, why bother rebuilding civilization only to stagnate like so?
My list is tailored towards inspiring a re-launch of the industry. I would rather disappear into Amish society than play the same five video-games forever more.

- Comment on Crunchyroll is destroying its subtitles for no good reason 2 months ago:
Subs are so bad now that I leave them on with dubs for comedic effect. Helps me rope in family-members to watching with me.
On the other hand, I can no longer trust them enough to just keep watching while others in the room have loud conversations, unless I want to switch to the original audio, which annoys them.
- Comment on Is your biology haunted with your ancestors anxiety 2 months ago:
Think the downvotes are mostly title-realated. but also, you need references. There are definitely communities that are a better fit for this screed, no matter how much you may want it to be welcomed here.
- Comment on YSK : The Jewish Yemenite Settlement in Silwan 3 months ago:
Reminds me of Massoud Hayoun’s When We Were Arabs. Jews being welcomed and protected by their Arab neighbors(and family!) in Palestine is one of the many truths that Israel/the West wants everyone to forget.

If the bearing were loose on the shaft, this would be a different conversation entirely.
If adjustment/refinement of the fit in the housing were out of the question, it shouldn’t be made out of plastic, but even in the world of metal-cutting machine tools, adjustment is often neccessary, and if a shim, spacer or set-screw does the job, its what is done.
Meanwhile, my own suggestion was, first, the upgrade kit.
- Comment on what anime is this girl from the meme from? 3 months ago:
The first episode will put you on some of the worst lists. It’s worse than porn, yet better than most anime by far. Utena is a victim, and I think she sticks with it partially because she realizes all of the Magical Girls in her world are victims.
- Comment on what anime is this girl from the meme from? 3 months ago:
It is, but its literally the most NSFW thing I’ve watched in years. 14yo(12yo? I’m not going back to check) nipples, out in the open, almost non-stop, along with any panty-shot you could concieve of.
Top of my list for shows I wish had reigned it in even slightly, or had a censored version on streaming, because as is, I can’t recommend it to friends or family, but its just too damn good of a show/story.
- Comment on Ender 3 v3 se y axis bearings loose in carrier. 3 months ago:
Resin isn’t that cheap either. Then there’s shipping. That said, if shimming works for test-prints, it may work for this. Personally, I can’t believe there’s not a wedge-centering end-cap or set-screws for dialing in the centering of the bearing just-so, but I’m no expert on this printer.

No skin off my back. Sorry, I honestly wasn’t meaning to call you out personally, beyond maybe, hey, this is how to do this next time.
I may just look into whether I can set this community to ding my notifications for new posts.
- Comment on Canary Cage 3 months ago:
Honestly, I was thinking post-approval by mods would be the best solution, for just that reason. Its why I led with the question about the existance of mods. Obviously too much work if its just the single mod who started the community.

Is there no moderation in this sub? An instance-agnostic link should be the bare minimum, not the exception. !canary_cage@lemmy.world

Epoxy isn’t cheap, unless you have it on-hand already or buy in-bulk. So you can burn ten-or-so-dollars on an epoxy fix that might or might not work as desired, or $40 on an upgrade that should.
That said, are you sure the printer is otherwise in good working order? Have you tried shimming that bearing and running a test print?

- Comment on New pathway engineered into plants lets them suck up more CO₂ - Ars Technica 4 months ago:
Believe it or not, I am right there with you on this. There is little to no way that I can see to do this without leaving most plants facing more competition than they can possibly cope with. Maybe start with islands that already have low plant biodiversity, and try to splice as many of each variety of plant there as possible at once? … but that’s all I’ve got.
Spliced Oceanic Algeas would probably just fill the oceans to the point of killing everything else in them.
- Comment on New pathway engineered into plants lets them suck up more CO₂ - Ars Technica 4 months ago:
Reducing emissions alone may not be enough for the survival of most existing flora and fauna.
The problem is that it will take an extended period of time for nature to pull all of the existing CO2 back out of the atmosphere. We may not survive long enough. The existing plants and whatnot that do it may not survive long enough to recover once its done.
