It’s funny that people are downvoting your completely unrelated non-political comments as well.

If anecdotal evidence means shit, let me add mine too. I grew up (yes, me, not my parents grandparents) in a communist state in India, and it was great lol. Does that now mean I get to deny all the legitimate criticisms of the system or that particular government? No. That’s not how it works you dumbasses. People give too much credence to anecdotal experience, even though it’s the most unreliable of all.

Non violent protests only work when there’s a threat of violence backing it.

Interesting. I’ve mostly seen them in the Nordic countries. (But then I haven’t had an opportunity to travel to SE Asia yet.)

I need to sleep now. If someone doesn’t post it by the time I wake up, I can make it. I think I have the episode.

Yeah, I might definitely be wrong. But still looks like some Costco-like store. Maybe Sam’s Club?

Looks like Costco to me. It’s probably a pack of a few billion rolls.

Bengali. But it’s a Sanskrit loan word (i.e. tatsama), so it’s the same in many north Indian languages. I don’t think it’s used as a name outside of Bengal, though.
- Comment on demon named racecar 1 month ago:
Not a kid. Also, I think he’s fine with it. He grew up in India, so it wasn’t a big deal.

I know a guy whose actual name is Anal. It means fire in our native language lol. Not a nice name to have when you’re in the US (unfortunately).

Wow. Hope you calm down later and realize what a cunt you’re being right now.

I’m not a member of the Plex community, never have been.
so what can I trust the jellyfin community to do?
Nothing. Just use the product if you want to.
- Comment on Fake reviews on Play Store by Plex staff 1 month ago:
No. You know you don’t need to join a community for using something, right? I didn’t join a community for my dishwasher. Not even for most of my apps, actually. It’s very easy. When you choose corporate, you’re giving money for shit service. There’s literally no way for dissociate from that. On the other hand, you can simply not participate in a community, no one’s forcing you. It’s just weird that you still prefer the corporate way.
- Comment on Fake reviews on Play Store by Plex staff 1 month ago:
I’ll take a corporate shitheel company over a roach infested toxic community any day.
What an asinine fucking take. Even if Plex were better than Jellyfin in every single way (it isn’t), this take would still be asinine. I mean, wtf dude.

I’m not the guy you’re replying to, but it is a bad analogy since learning to read a language leads to more exciting things, even if you don’t enjoy reading books. You can communicate, do science, watch movies with subs etc. But learning chess does not make you good at anything else. (Tbh, I’m speaking out of my ass here, and will stand corrected if presented with research claiming otherwise.)

Lol, I can relate. My friends are always surprised how good I am at a game when I’m playing for the first time (mostly card games, and board games). But I quickly get bored, so never get to be actually good at any of those.

Huh?
- Comment on Unlike in movies, most smart people aren't good in chess. 2 months ago:
I’d argue that there is a certain kind of creativity in coming up with those moves. But since it’s mostly a solved game now, modern players probably don’t experience it anymore.

You also need a sharp memory. I’m good in math, but terrible in remembering things. I forget names of terms that I’m actively doing research on, and constantly need to look at notes.
