- Comment on Voter ID in England led to racial and disability discrimination, report finds 1 year ago:
I think it means they're less likely to be able to identify that the ID photo is the same person as the one standing in front of them. It's the other-race effect, which I understand is quite natural for people of all races that have less experience with other races.

We are an apathetic people. I could easily see that continuing into the 24th century!
- Comment on Liz Truss to ‘share lessons’ of her time in government in new book 1 year ago:
I wish the lesson she learned was "I'm somewhat stupid and short-sighted, and definitely shouldn't be a politician or any other kind of public figure"
- Comment on Caribbean nations set to demand royal family makes reparations for slave trade 1 year ago:
If they ever get anything, it will be millions at most. There's no chance the firm will give up any of the real wealth. Good luck to them though, I would love to see some of the fortune actually put to good use somewhere. They don't appear to use it to help anybody here.

I feel like an alien in this thread because I hated the theme for the first two seasons but just started the expanse season (S3 I think) and think the updated theme sounds much better. It's definitely weird they chose that season to change it though.
- Comment on Lucy Letby: nurse found guilty of murdering seven babies 1 year ago:
This is exactly where my mind went. I can't imagine she was just leaving school and decided becoming a nurse would be the best route to killing babies. Or maybe I just don't want to.
A common thing with killers is that they enjoy the rush, I wonder if that's something that developed while she was working, as in she felt that during her legitimate duties and had to push it further and on her timetable.
A monster, regardless.
