Summer I really make sure they’re in vac bags with indicating desiccant. Winter not so worried. I used to just not care but since getting an X1C with ams I’ve had a number of rolls of pla snap inside and trying to clear that out is annoying. Haven’t really had an issue sense although I have some esun pla+ that is incredibly brittle and will snap just looking at it.

It’d be fun to mess around with if it wasn’t 12-18k for the setup.

It’s a bit overblown IMO. Unless you’re going wild with multi material it’s about the same as any other printer. Sure it purges a little even if you don’t change filament between prints but it’s still such a small amount. I found myself purging a little each time with my Prusa and Enders before too.
If you’re that worried don’t get an ams for multi color printing. Get an ams to reduce waste for automatic spool runout switching.

Honestly don’t know either. Never had this happen before but surprisingly if I’m careful it prints fine if I don’t use the ams. 🤷

I would say the same but I have five rolls of theirs that no matter how long they dry they basically crumble apart, did it right from the bag too. So I dunno what’s up with their QC but that’s pretty bad.
- Comment on Why am I having so much trouble drying filament? 1 year ago:
Those kind of dryers don’t really let the moisture escape, it needs somewhere to go. Either with desiccant + fan or ideally food dehydrator.
- Comment on First time with PETG. Is this calibration, wetness or something else? 1 year ago:
You can use your heated bed, just set a temp and cover the roll with a box.
